the work of mina javid

I absolutely love the design work of Mina Javid. My favorite - the wall graphics. Mina's work extends from modern lighting options to patterned headboards all interpreted through decals you can add to surfaces in your small space. Simple and impactful - my favorite kind of style. Plus small space dwellers can get the look without taking up the space (hi, cool headboard) Click here to enjoy her full portfolio, including interior styling and furniture design. gold enamel votives

A few weeks ago, I posted about a black and gold combo that I see coming on strong in the next few months. {Be on the lookout for the November InStyle Magazine where I talk more about this trend} I spotted this style over the summer when I was in Stockholm, Italy and London. While there, I picked up  a bunch of design goodies, including this fave item - a votive. Super small in size, this little guy is such a nice design element in my new small space, I love it! There's something chic and cool about this votive - matte exterior and and shiny enamel interior - the tiny tealight creates such a look in such a small package. I love small details in small spaces // they truly add style.

the soon-to-be-launching missoni for target collection

If you are a design lover and a Missoni lover like me then I am sure you are also anticipating the very cool and fab Missoni for Target collection launch in a few weeks. I was thrilled to spot a few images online and in magazines that preview a few items from the very full collection. There are about 400 pieces, including a bike and patio set. (Yea, that patio set is mine - dying for a sneak peek :) I love the Missoni style and color - remember my small space DIY from a few months ago when I turned a Missoni hand towel into art? I also have been coveting their cashmere throw, even spotting it in Florence this summer and wishing I could take it home with me.

stone side tables

I've been seeing stone side tables all over the places and really think they make a great accent statement in a small space. Maybe it's the texture, style and design but these pretty pieces make me smile.

tinted porcelain bowls

Don't you love this dishware? I absolutely do! This line of bowls, plates and trays is from a neat little company out of Australia that tints the porcelain prior to baking. A simple glaze is applied to add the shine. I think adding small details with color and texture to small space creates a subtle but impactful design style. Love that!

currently loving...bright colors in small doses

Seeing small pops of color in my small space really makes me smile. How simple yet impactful is placing a few colored pencils in a simple glass vase? Absolutely love the quiet style that is created here. How do you use bright color in your home?

currently loving...c-tables

I hope you all had a fantastic holiday! I am definitely excited for 2011 and new adventures. Over the holiday, I had some time to reinvent my small space by flipping my floor layout. I realized this new layout made my space feel bigger - yes! I also realized that I needed more tabletop space in my main room and was thrilled to spot the new marble C-table at CB2. It's perfect since it tucks under furniture while providing a flat surface - a great example of form and function. I snapped one up and am loving it in my small space. It feels balanced with the other tables and it's made simple things - like enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning - even sweeter. I definitely feel that all small space lovers should consider this style table for their space.
