using your walls
flea market style

i hope you are enjoying a lovely holiday weekend that's full of fun finds and decor gems! I love this wall - spotted at sweet clothing shop Jigsaw - that is full of such fabulous texture and design.  I am immediately inspired to check out a few flea markets in sunny Los Angeles to pick up my own affordable treasures-turn-home decor. design inspiration

as you know, we love using your walls to make your small space *feel* big! A lot of small space living is about tone. One of my favorite, favorite, favorite (can you tell I like this?) styles are patterned illustrations. I profiled Wayne Pate last summer and now want to share the work of Lucy Vigrass - lovely! The colors + style are super appealing and pretty! What a great way to add color to your small space! Buy some prints, frame a few with this cool frame risers (love these too!) and you have a neat art presentation in your small space.

mixing textures

all small space dwellers can enjoy mixing textures to create unique and cool design vibes. I certainly *love* this idea! The sweet ladies of Nesting Newbies include me in their brand new Spring issue that digitally launched today! There are tons of fab design inspiration right inside. small space solution
split tables

if you are a small space dweller, like me, then you know all about using furniture for double duty. In some cases - custom your furniture too!  I was going through my inspiration notebook last night and came across this old domino spread and wanted to (re)post it for you guys.  This pretty red table splits in half when needed and comes together in a flash - yes! Definitely a great example of stylish small space living in both form + function.

{louis vuitton} + small space solutions

I spotted a neat tweet from @theselby about the launch of his collaboration with {my own personal fave icon} Louis Vuitton for the Fall/Winter 2010-2011 collection. um, think I headed straight on over there? yes! After clicking through the neat site that casually showcases major fashion destinations and several happenings + events + stylemakers within each, I had the pleasure of spotting quite a few small space solutions. One of my faves - floor-to-ceiling bookcases in Andre Balazs NYC office space. Yes, vertical depth works in small spaces! And of course I enjoyed the patterns (yes - they are BACK for 2010) in all the LV love. I am seriously coveting that priceless classic LV console. If you have a few minutes or hours to spend clicking through this design inspires site, go for it! And yes, I had to place even more LV over at i heart living small - drool-worthy.

furniture with storage

as small space dwellers, we love the idea of form and function, yes?! when you are checking out furniture for your small space, consider pieces that work double duty - it looks good as good as it functions. Loving the look of this space that includes a bookshelf of storage. Cohesive + solid storage - this is a great idea for your small space. change it up

every few months I go through a small space style makeover - usually with small details. I love this collection of three votives - super affordable and stylin! I bought a few to place on my credenza instead of my glass vases. a little change can create a new little vibe in your home. fun!
